Car Extravaganza
Rodger Dudding is a business magnate who has built up the most amazing collection of cars in the UK. He currently owns over 350 vehicles worth upwards of £40 million. To this, he also store cars for wealthy clients who often live overseas and only need access to their cars occasionally.
But his busines started in 1970 by using his engineering knowledge to invent a paper ticketing machine - a device to help manage busy queues in places such as butchers and supermarkets. Initially called the 'Take a Ticket' system, he has renamed it the queue management system which is still being used by companies today. He said: 'They still use our system in Harrods and Selfridges and all the major supermarket use the system on their counters.'
But to add to that, this entrepreneur's business acumen is just as impressive as his car collection with an estimated net worth of £162 million, according to the Sunday Times' Rich List. Nicknamed "Mr Lock Up" by customers and "RD" by staff, he now also owns more than 12,000 garages, making him "the largest private owner of garages" in the United Kingdom
We have organised a private viewing, led by Rodger himself who will explain the history of the collection and show some notable examples. So whether you wish to see a Bugatti Veyron, Rolls Royces, Aston Martins, Ferraris, Porsches - or just some vintage cars stretching back for over 100 years - this is a "must see" event.
As Rodger himself says: 'The Aston Martin Lagonda, you love them or you hate them. I am now up to 24 which I'm told is the largest collection in the world. You probably have to be nutty to own one, and you should be taken to the lunatic asylum if you've got three or more. I don't know where that positions me.'
The cars are also often used for filming, including Movies and TV. If you have ever watched Downton Abbey - or even Eastenders, then you may well have seen cars drawn from this amazing stable.
