Networking at the IoD with Paul Jagger
Paul Jagger is a Court Assistant of The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists and author of The City of London Freeman’s Guide - the definitive concise guide to the City of London’s customs, ceremonies, officers, institutions, landmarks and traditions.
He has a particular interest in the treasures and heraldry of the City’s Livery Companies.
Paul is a member of many heritage and history bodies including The Arts Society (formerly NADFAS), the Cambridge University Heraldic & Genealogical Society, the White Lion Society (supporting HM College of Arms), The Heraldry Society (England and Wales) and he is a life member of London Historians, the National Trust and English Heritage. He is a member of the City Livery Club and the Farringdon Ward Club.
In his professional life Paul leads a consulting team for IBM in the field of workplace learning and development. He is a Chartered IT Professional, a Fellow of BCS The Chartered Institute for IT, an external consultant to City & Guilds, the Open University and a visiting lecturer at City University (London).
He formerly served with 101 (City of London) Engineer Regiment (EOD) - one of the City’s privileged regiments and is a life member of the Victory Services Club and of 101 Engineer Regiment’s regimental association.
Paul lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and two young children but he’s a Yorkshireman by inclination and still hasn’t fully forgiven King Alfred the Great for banishing his Viking ancestors to the Danelaw
